Guaranteeing Pathways to Higher Education

The Christian Brothers College (CBC) and Flinders University Education Pathway Program is designed to provide students with unique opportunities to integrate their secondary education with higher learning.

By completing Research Project Stage 2 / Activating Identities and Futures (AIF), the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and prerequisite school subjects (see below), CBC students are guaranteed entry into a variety of specialised programs at Flinders University. These include the Sport Pathway (Diploma), Sport Pathway (Bachelor) and Business Pathway (Bachelor). The collaboration between CBC and Flinders University aims to create a clear and accessible route for students to progress into higher education, offering a seamless transition into key academic areas.

Prerequisite School Subjects Soccer Program Participation or VET (listed below)

and
80 x Stage 2 SACE credits from:

  • Business Innovations
  • English
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Integrated Learning (Sport Studies)
  • Outdoor Education
  • Physical Education
  • Scientific Studies: Sports Science
  • Any other TAS subject (as approved by school)
  • Extension Studies topics (2 topics = 20 SACE credits)

and
Satisfy CBC Advantage requirements
Grade and Achievement Requirements Minimum B- in Stage 2
VET Certificate III in Sport Coaching
or
Participation in Soccer Program
Eligible Courses Diploma in Sport Business
Diploma in Sports Management
Diploma in Sports Management (Cricket)
Bachelor of Business
Bachelor of Business (Sports Management)
Bachelor of Exercise Science
Bachelor of Health Science
Bachelor of Health Science (Therapy Studies)
Bachelor of Sport and Active Recreation

Students achieving the required Grade Point Average (GPA)  from their Diploma studies will allow them to apply to transfer into other courses, such as a Bachelor of Health Sciences / Master of Physiotherapy.

Business Pathway

Prerequisite School Subjects VET Cert III Business Advantage Line

and
60 x Stage 2 SACE credits from:

  • Business Innovations
  • English
  • Any other TAS subject (as approved by school)

and
20 x Stage 2 SACE credits from:

  • Any other TAS subject (as approved by school)
  • Extension Studies topics (2 topics = 20 SACE credits)

and
Satisfy CBC Advantage requirements – Certificate III Business
